PARENTS CORNER
registration
Download the 2008/2009 registration
form under the Forms section of
the site. Please return as soon as possible as some levels
fill up early. It is not the coaches job to remind parents
to hand in their registrations for the following year.
UNFORM INFORMATION
All players will receive
a club jersey, a pair shorts, and soccer socks at the beginning
of the season. It is the parents' responsibility to provide
soccer cleats and shin guards.
All players must be in full
uniform when playing games. Players found not wearing regulation
uniforms will not be permitted to play and referees are
within their rights to enforce this rule. A practice dress
code includes cleats, guards and appropriate clothing. For
players practicing outside during the winter months, feel
free to wear knit gloves, and touques if necessary.
Jewelry is not permitted
during game play and studs need to be covered with tape
if they are not to be removed. Jerseys should be tucked
into the shorts during regular game play.
If possible, please ensure
the jerseys and shorts have been laundered prior to returning
to the coach. The uniform deposit cheque will be cashed
by the club if the uniform is not returned at the end of
the season.
parents code of ethics
1. Do not force an unwilling
child to participate in sports.
2. Remember - children are involved in organized sports
for their enjoyment, not yours.
3. Encourage your child always to play by the rules.
4. Teach your child that honest effort is as important as
victory so that the result of each game is accepted without
undue disappointment.
5. Turn defeat into victory by helping your child work toward
skill development and good sportsmanship. Never ridicule
or yell at your child for making a mistake or loosing a
competition.
6. Remember that children learn best by example. Applaud
good plays by your team and by members of the opposing team.
7. Do not publicly question the official's judgment and
never their honesty.
8. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse
from children's sporting activities.
9. Recognize the value and importance of volunteer coaches.
They give their time and resources to provide recreational
activities for your child.
PLAYERS CODE OF ETHICS
1. Play for the fun of it,
not just to please your parents or coach.
2. Play by the rules.
3. Never argue with the official's decisions.
4. Control your temper - no mouthing off.
5. Work equally hard for yourself or your team. Your team's
performance will benefit and so will your own.
6. Be a good sport. Cheer all good plays, whether your team's
or opponents'.
7. Develop team respect for the ability of opponents, as
well as for the judgement of officials and opposing coaches.
8. Follow the advice of your physician when determining
if you are ready to play after an injury.
9. Remember that, as players, you need to respect your coach
and follow his or her examples and instructions.
MISSING GAMES
If you are unable to attend
a game, please ensure you advise your coach as soon as possible
so he/she can adjust their lineup for the game. This also
applies to practices as coaches frequently set up their
drill schedule in advance and absentee players can affect
the practice.
